VOTE 2025

Josh Harper – Mayor of Hillburn

Chaim Savin – Village Trustee

If there’s one thing I’ve learned since moving to Hillburn, it’s that real growth happens when people feel heard and valued. As mayor, I’ll focus on strengthening our relationship with county and state officials to address vital infrastructure needs, like road repair and improved sound barriers. I’m also dedicated to helping families lower their energy bills by guiding them toward available grants and eco-friendly programs. Above all, I’ll promote open communication—through in-person forums, newsletters, and online updates—so you’ll always know what’s happening and why. Hillburn’s small-town spirit is something we should cherish and protect, and with your help, I’ll make sure our village remains a place we’re all proud to call home, no matter your culture or background.

Over the past eight years, I’ve watched our village change in small ways, but real growth—a kind that unites us—has been missing. I’m running for mayor because I want every neighbor to know what’s happening, have a say, and feel proud of living in Hillburn. I believe in leading by listening, and my door will always be open.

Our Positions

Return Hillburn back to the people

Hillburn should be a place where every voice is valued and where residents feel empowered to shape the future of their village. Our mission is to unite the community by creating a more inclusive, welcoming environment—one that brings neighbors together, fosters understanding, and ensures that the needs of the people remain at the heart of every decision.

Lower Taxes

While taxes may be inevitable, we believe in responsible fiscal management that eases the burden on our residents. Our goal is to explore cost-saving measures, seek alternative funding sources, and maintain prudent budgeting practices—all to help keep taxes in check and support the prosperity of every Hillburn household.

Introduce transparency in the community

I know how frustrating it can be to feel like big changes are happening, but no one’s talking about them. I want to make sure every resident knows what’s going on, from new projects to policy updates. Regular town forums, accessible newsletters, and open dialogues will help create the sense of community and trust that Hillburn deserves.

“Hillburn is more than just a place to live—it’s a community of neighbors who look out for each other. I want to strengthen that bond by inviting residents to share ideas, step up as volunteers, and help shape decisions that benefit everyone. Working together, we can keep our small-town spirit alive while building a brighter future”

Why choose to RESTORE HILLBURN?

Hillburn is more than just a place to live—it’s a community of neighbors who look out for each other. I want to strengthen that bond by inviting residents to share ideas, step up as volunteers, and help shape decisions that benefit everyone. Working together, we can keep our small-town spirit alive while building a brighter future.

Energy & Cost Savings

Energy costs keep going up, and that hits home for many of us. I’ll help residents navigate grants and programs designed to improve energy efficiency—lowering bills and making Hillburn a greener, healthier place for all.

Road and Noise Improvement

If we can’t drive safely on our roads or rely on sound barriers to protect our homes, it’s a problem we need to address. By teaming up with Rockland County and the state, I intend to secure the support we need to improve road conditions and other infrastructure. Our village deserves the same attention and resources as larger communities.
